The Chief Flight Instructor or Assistant Chief Flight Instructor will lead or support flight training operations at our Price, Utah satellite location. This role requires a strong commitment to FAA regulations, including Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) under 14 CFR Parts 61 and 141, while fostering a collaborative team environment. The successful candidate will manage or assist in daily operations, mentor instructors and students, and ensure the program's alignment with USU's educational mission. Appointment as Chief or Assistant Chief will be based on qualifications and experience. You will be managing a fleet of Diamond Aircraft with one C172. All aircraft are equipped with ADS-B and G1000.
Oversee or assist in all flight training activities at the Price satellite location, including scheduling, curriculum delivery, and student progress evaluations.
Ensure strict adherence to FAA requirements, FARs, and USU policies, including safety protocols, record-keeping, and certification processes.
Lead or collaborate with a team of flight instructors, ground instructors, and support staff to maintain high standards of instruction and
operational efficiency.
Manage or support the satellite location's resources, including aircraft maintenance coordination, facility oversight, and budget input.
Conduct stage checks, proficiency evaluations, and endorsements for students and instructors.
Develop and implement training programs, safety initiatives, and continuous improvement strategies.
Serve as a liaison or support liaison between the Price satellite and USU's main aviation program, reporting on performance metrics and compliance.
Promote a positive learning environment, addressing student concerns and supporting diversity in aviation education.
Participate in recruitment efforts, community outreach, and professional development activities.

The position requires considerable physical activity.
