Overview

Utah State University seeks an accomplished and collaborative nurse educator to join our nursing faculty at the USU Campus located in Tooele. The successful candidate will have a solid background in nursing education and a demonstrated ability to work effectively within teams. Primary duties are teaching (90%) and service (10%).

 

This is a non-tenure track, nine-month academic year position at the Professional Practice Assistant Professor or Professional Practice Associate Professor level beginning fall semester, 2026. Review of applicants will begin March 9, 2026 and will continue until the position is filled. This position is not eligible for remote work.

Responsibilities

This position fills the role of a faculty member within the USU Nursing Program. The successful candidate will provide concept-based instruction in undergraduate (AAS) courses. Areas of desired expertise include both classroom and online teaching and course management, simulation/lab experience, and a broad range of nursing teaching expertise including leadership and basic pathophysiology. Responsibilities may include curriculum development, teaching, professional engagement, and service. Courses are taught online and in person at USU campus in Tooele, Utah.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Earned Master's of Nursing degree or enrolled in Master's of Nursing program with an expected completion within two years
  • A record of excellent teaching in nursing
  • Licensed registered nurse in the State of Utah or a Nurse Licensure Compact state
  • Evidence of excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability in teamwork, interpersonal, organizational, and technological skills
  • Exhibits integrity, honesty, professionalism, strong work ethic, and ability to create and maintain safe and respectful relationships.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three years of faculty experience in a higher education nursing program
  • Experience in concept-based instruction and student-centered learning
  • Experience working within a multi campus system

The Department of Nursing is in the Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services. Within Nursing, the Baccalaureate Nursing degree, including RN to BSN completion is offered on the Logan campus, while the Practical Nursing certificate and Associate of Applied Science degree in Nursing are offered at Statewide (Utah) Campus sites.
