The Utah State University (USU) Extension Create Better Health (SNAP-ED) program is a comprehensive program that helps low-income individuals and families by providing direct education on basic nutrition, cooking skills and physical activity to youth and adults both online and face-to-face (as situations allow); collaborates with community partners to improve healthy food access and physical activity opportunities within communities (PSE work); provides outreach and education through social media platforms.
USU Extension Create Better Health program in Utah County is seeking a qualified individual to work part-time (20 hours per week depending on available grant funding) providing complementary elements of the program (mentioned above). Reporting program progress and impacts is an essential part of this work. Familiarity with SNAP procedures and local community food distribution sites is desirable. Successful applicants will be required to recruit agencies they partner with, recruit clients they teach, and follow federal guidelines. SNAP-Ed is a grant funded program and adherence to policies, protocols and procedures are essential.

Utah State University’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) invites applications to fill two faculty positions in cybersecurity engineering: one tenure-track position (research and teaching) and one professor-of-practice position (teaching emphasis). It is expected that these positions will be filled at the Assistant or Associate Professor level; however, candidates with exceptional experience will be considered at the rank of (full) Professor. Applicants should have expertise in cybersecurity engineering in areas such as:
• Computer hardware or embedded system security
• Power system security
• Control, guidance, navigation, autonomous system security
• Communication system security
• Sensors and signal processing system security.
Two faculty positions have opened to develop the focus area of cybersecurity engineering. The hired faculty members will be involved in designing curriculum and creating and teaching courses and hands-on laboratory experiences to provide students the knowledge and skills that make them highly qualified to join the cyber workforce in the industry, government, and national labs. The successful applicant for the tenure-track position will also contribute significantly to the research efforts within the department and across the broader university community.
The search committee will begin considering applications on October 15, 2023, and continue until the position is filled. For full consideration, applications should be submitted prior to that date. Anticipated start dates are in step with the academic calendar and include January 2024 and August 2024.

ACP seeks to reduce digital access disparities by providing qualifying households with a discounted rate for internet access. The Affordable Connectivity Program is an FCC benefit program that helps ensure that households can afford the broadband they need for work, school, healthcare and more. The benefit provides a discount of up to $30 per month toward internet service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands. Eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers if they contribute more than $10 and less than $50 toward the purchase price. This position is funded by a temporary two-year contract. The ideal candidate will take part in a variety of activities related to ACP outreach and education.

The Department of Animal, Dairy and Veterinary Sciences at Utah State University is seeking applicants for a Supervisor I. This position will assist the management of personnel and operation of the small-animal laboratory animal core within the Institute for Antiviral Research (IAR). The successful candidate will help oversee the daily operations, management, and staffing of animal studies. The Office for the Executive Vice President (EVP) & University Marketing and Communications (UMAC) is seeking applicants for a Business Manager II. Incumbents in this position will utilize their knowledge and related experience to coordinate the business operations of various departments within EVP & UMAC. This post-doctoral research position (Postdoctoral Fellow I) will work within Patrick Belmont's research group to advance and apply a mathematical model to predict post-wildfire sedimentation risks and communicate about those risks with relevant stakeholders.

Utah State University Extension is seeking multiple outgoing and positive individuals to serve as Community Liaisons responsible for supporting programming and community engagement efforts as part of a federally funded substance misuse prevention project in Emery County. The primary role of these positions is to facilitate project involvement of population subgroups within their respective counties, which may include people in rural areas, Hispanic and Latino/a/e people, Native American or tribal people, Pacific Islanders, and/or youth and families from refugee populations. Community Liaisons will work to promote educational workshops, in-person and virtual programs, and other project services while identifying and reducing participation barriers such as language and transportation for under-served subgroups.
We encourage applicants who are from, or have connections to, one of the population subgroups mentioned above to apply. The number of hours worked each week and work schedule will vary based on project phase and applicant availability but is estimated to average to around four hours per week across the year. Some evening and weekend work will be necessary, and applicants must have their own transportation. This is a non-benefited position.
USU Housing Services is seeking applicants for a Systems Administrator III position. The Department of Technology, Design, and Technical Education (TDTE) at Utah State University (USU) is seeking one full-time, dynamic, knowledgeable, and experienced candidate for a Pathways Program Coordinator at the USU Eastern Campus in Price, Utah. The Pathways Program Coordinator will plan, organize, and coordinate seamless student pathways in career and technical education from secondary education to USU Eastern, and from non-credit programs to credit programs. In addition, this position will prepare statistical and narrative reports and recommendations, and participate in the analysis and interpretation of data as appropriate. The Pathways Program Coordinator is an exempt staff position, and the estimated start date is November 1, 2023. This position reports to the TDTE Department Head, and has no supervisory responsibilities.
This position is budgeted for three (3) years, but may be longer contingent upon funding.
The Technical Support Analyst will support the daily technical performance of customers across the USU Eastern campus and sites throughout Utah by providing technical support to customers via telephone, email, in-person, and other electronic means. This position will consult with customers to determine hardware, software or other functional computer specifications to meet the customers' technology needs, including desktops, laptops, printers, handheld devices, and software. They will also be expected to maintain accurate documentation of support requests and actions taken to ensure timely and accurate issue resolution.

The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (http://www.mae.usu.edu/) at Utah State University (USU) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant and Associate Professor level. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or closely related fields. Candidates will be considered at either the assistant or (untenured) associate professor level. The position is tenure-track academic year (funded for 9-months) appointment with an anticipated start date of January 2023.
Although candidates in all areas of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering will be considered, preference may be given to those with demonstrated expertise in experimental combustion and propulsion (including atmospheric and space applications, small-sat propulsion, green-energy propulsion), or theoretical and computational hypersonic flow (including shock influenced chemical reaction in propulsion and boundary layers, hypersonic ionization, and non-equilibrium high-enthalpy flow). In addition to a clear research focus, successful applicants will also have a strong background in engineering fundamentals and will be expected at a minimum to:
1) develop a significant externally funded research program that includes a strong record of peer-reviewed publications and graduate mentorship,
2) effectively teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and
3) actively participate in assigned department and university duties, and demonstrate leadership in relevant technical societies.
This highly detailed, customer service oriented, individual is assigned to coordinate exam accommodations across USU courses; to facilitate note taking accommodations; to assist with the creation of accessible course materials; to provide support for front office reception; and to participate in the supervision of student staff. Incumbents in this position (Coordinator III) will also play an integral role in the development and oversight of programs aimed at supporting students with disabilities. The Accommodation Coordinator interacts daily with students, faculty, and staff to ensure that the university meets its legal obligation to provide students with accommodations. Salt Lake County is seeking a creative and positive person to work as a Program Assistant II to USU Extension 4-H/youth staff. General Hours will be Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm, but this position will also require some week nights and weekend hours. This position will be housed in South Jordan at the USU Bastian Agriculture Center. This is a full-time benefited position. Applicants should be able to work well independently and in a team.
