Utah State University invites applications for a part-time, non-benefited employee. The job is located primarily at the Utah Agricultural Experiment Station (UAES)/Greenville and Blue Creek Farm Units. The successful applicants will work under the direction of the Farm Manager to conduct general research crop production practices, coordinate deliveries, transport feed products and equipment, and maintain adequate records of transport and delivery of the products. Additionally, they will assist in the everyday duties and responsibilities of the farm. They will have to be able to work flexible hours to accommodate the busy harvest season and hauling of products. They will be working alone or with minimum supervision a fair amount of time and need to be a driven, self-starter.

USU Extension Create Better Health program in Grand County is seeking a qualified individual to work part-time (20 hours per week depending on available grant funding) providing complementary elements of the program (mentioned above). Reporting program progress and impacts is an essential part of this work. Familiarity with SNAP procedures and local community food distribution sites is desirable. Successful applicants will be required to recruit agencies they partner with, recruit clients they teach, and follow federal guidelines. SNAP-Ed is a grant funded program and adherence to policies, protocols and procedures are essential.
Continuation of employment is based upon need, performance, and available funding (funding is grant funded). Work under County Extension supervisors. Must follow Create Better Health (SNAP-Ed) policies and procedures.
4-H Mentoring Assistant Site Coordinator will work with the Site Coordinator to serve the youth and families in the 4-H Mentoring program to provide afterschool club meetings, monthly family night out events and monthly group mentoring activities.
Finishes Technicians perform general painting preparation and application techniques to maintain, repair, and finish USU Facilities, as well as assist with floor covering preparation and application as needed. They work as a member of a team under limited supervision on various projects or assignments. This position will be hired at either an Apprentice or Journeyman level based upon qualifications/experience and duties assigned. Please see Qualifications section below.
The Field Safety Officer provides safety related services for all research and teaching activities occurring outside the traditional university setting under the direction of the Executive Director of the USU Environmental Health and Safety Office. Responsibilities focus on promoting a culture of safety and the prevention of occupational injuries and illnesses. The population served by this position includes researchers, faculty, staff, students, and visitors that conduct outdoor activities on and off-campus or outdoor outside traditional laboratories and classrooms including, but not limited to: farms, field stations, nature reserves, and remote research sites. This position includes providing technical guidance on how to conduct hazard assessments and the development of safe procedures for conducting field research and teaching.
The Van Vliet Lab at the Center for Human Nutrition Studies at Utah State University seeks a Postdoctoral Associate for research investigating the effects of agro-ecology and regenerative agriculture on food nutritional composition and human health. The ideal candidate will have experience in agricultural, food science, and/or human nutrition research, and have strong wet lab skills. The position will require self-direction and the ability to manage large data sets and to work effectively with undergraduate, graduate, and other team members in the lab. Candidates must have obtained their PhD in a related field prior to the start date.
The initial appointment will be for two years, with potential for additional years pending positive performance and funding.

Utah State University Extension in Carbon County is seeking a summer 2023 technician to assist in applied research on sheep grazing effects on riparian noxious weeds. Activities will include vegetation and forage quantification, tracking grazing behavior, and caring for sheep during research activities. Duties will include both field and office work. Field work may include short-term overnight primitive camping but it will be minimal. Travel to field site (50 miles) will typically be provided but a mileage reimbursement for personal vehicle use will be given when rarely required.
The Garfield County Office of Utah State University Extension seek a qualified individual who would be responsible for providing enriching afterschool clubs for students. Instructor Positions are available at all three Garfield County Sites (Bryce Valley, Escalante, and Panguitch). We need educators to teach a variety of subject matters; such as, but not limited to Sewing, STEM, Cake Decorating, Music, Art, Etc. Swaner Naturalists act as the face of the organization by greeting and assisting guests, orienting visitors to the Preserve and EcoCenter, and helping them to engage in nature. By interpreting the natural world for guests, the ideal candidate will further Swaner’s mission to preserve the land and the human connection to the natural landscape, educate the local and broader communities about the value of nature, and nurture both the ecosystem and the people connected with it. Naturalists engage guests, answer questions, lead Preserve tours, facilitate interpretive nature programs for guests, and attend to the general upkeep and enrichment of the EcoCenter and exhibits. They will also help with traveling exhibits hosted in the space, special events, and youth education as needed.
In addition to defined job duties, naturalists have the opportunity to assist with conservation projects on the Preserve, participate in a Utah Master Naturalist Course, and receive additional naturalist training.
This position is part-time (15-20 hrs/week), will take place predominately on weekends, and reports to the Visitor Experience and Exhibit Manager. If you are interested in this position, please submit an application as soon as possible.

The Utah State University (USU) Rehabilitation Counseling program (RCP) seeks to hire a Professional Practice Assistant Professor with experience working in a variety of rehabilitation counseling settings.
This position will have a heavy focus on teaching and advising in the USU RCP and teaching responsibilities will be dispersed across the fall, spring, and summer semesters. The majority of courses in the USU RCP are delivered using distance technologies and use both live-broadcast and asynchronous methods of instruction.
The highly qualified candidate will collaborate with university colleagues and community members and teach courses in the Master’s of Rehabilitation Counseling program. In addition to serving those with mental health concerns, special consideration would be given to applicants with a history of serving individuals with physical, cognitive, and intellectual disabilities with co-occurring mental health concerns.
This position will be physically located at the USU main campus in Logan. This is a 1.0 FTE, term appointment, nine-month academic year position.

The Utah State University Extension 4-H in Salt Lake County is accepting applications for 35 youth internships. Interns will be placed into positions that reflect their choice of job interest from their initial application and interview. Possible internships may include: after school programs, community centers, libraries, recreation departments, medical facilities, gardening and other related work places.
Each employer will have different job responsibilities and job policies the interns will need to follow. To ensure a successful internship the interns will attend four mandatory pre-internship training sessions.

- The qualify for TANF funding (this is federal family assistance money)

The Jon M. The Custodian will be responsible for cleaning university buildings, vacuuming, trash removal, dusting, recycling, restroom maintenance, light-bulb replacement, etc. Starts at $12.50/hour.

The Air Quality Scientist ((Researcher II, III, SR, or Lead) will conduct atmospheric research at Utah State University's Bingham Research Center, focusing on air quality in Utah's Uinta Basin. This work will include developing, maintaining, and applying 3-D photochemical air quality models. It will also involve field and laboratory work, including collecting samples, maintaining analytical equipment, and processing and analyzing data. The successful applicant will participate in writing reports and peer-reviewed publications, developing project plans (including grant writing), and engaging with local government and industry stakeholders to establish relationships, cooperate in project execution, and share research results. Funding for this position is available through an ongoing appropriation from the Utah legislature (50%), an agreement with local government (25%), and external grants and contracts (25%).
This position will be filled at either the Researcher II, III, SR, or Lead level. Salary will be commensurate with job level and experience, and compensation will also include USU’s generous benefits package.
