The Earthquake Engineering and Subsurface Imaging Research Lab, located within the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Utah State University (USU) and under the supervision of Professor Brady R. Cox, is currently seeking a motivated postdoctoral research fellow. This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate closely with Dr. Cox on projects focusing on subsurface imaging and multi-dimensional seismic site response analyses.   Ideal candidates will possess expertise in non-invasive site characterization methods, such as surface wave testing, full waveform inversion, horizontal-to-vertical spectral ratio measurements, among others. Join the Healthy Relationship Utah team as a Family Life Educator (FLE)! The primary focus of this position will be supporting USU’s Healthy Relationships Utah initiatives. The successful candidate(s) will coordinate local programming and teach parenting and relationship skills throughout the state of Utah, both in-person and virtually. Healthy Relationships Utah is an Extension initiative that offers educational programs in schools, jails, and communities throughout Utah (see HealthyRelationshipsUtah.org).   This is a grant-funded position that will work and teach during daytime, afternoon and evening hours, as well as some Saturdays. The successful candidate(s) will be responsible for coordinating with local DWS and DHHS offices, community partners, high schools, jails, Head Start, etc. This position will require travel (mileage paid), a flexible schedule, and evening hours. Preference will be giving to candidates who live in/near, or are willing to relocate to, the Wasatch Front, Southwestern Utah, or Southeast Utah. The Department of Plants, Soils, and Climate (PSC) in the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences at Utah State University (USU) invites applicants for an academic year (9-month) tenure-track faculty position in small grains plant breeding and genetics at a rank of Assistant Professor. The appointment is 70% research, 25% teaching, and 5% service.   We seek a colleague who will lead a research program using current technology in plant genetics and breeding towards dwarf bunt resistance and other biotic and abiotic stress resistances related to climate resilience, who will develop genetically improved lines of wheat and barley adapted to dryland and irrigated small grain-growing regions of Utah and surrounding states including Idaho and other Pacific Northwest states. The successful candidate is expected to develop an extramurally funded, nationally recognized research program in plant breeding and genetics and contribute to teaching in PSC with an undergraduate class in plant breeding and an additional undergraduate or graduate class in their area of expertise. Course assignments may change based on curriculum needs. The Department of Veterinary Clinical and Life Sciences (VCLS) in the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) at Utah State University (USU) is seeking applicants for a FY 12-month, 0.75 -1.0 FTE (negotiable) Professional Practice Assistant or Associate Professor of Veterinary Professional Skills Instruction position (non-tenure track) with an assignment of 95% teaching and 5% service. This candidate will play a pivotal role in introducing students to the knowledge, skills, attitudes, attributes, abilities, and behaviors (KSAAABs) tied to the development of their professional identity as future veterinarians. The candidate is expected to design, develop, and deliver hands-on professional skills-related courses in the new Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree curriculum that center around three programmatic learning outcomes for students: 1) personal and professional communication skills; 2) practice management and career development skills; and 3) personal and professional development skills. Course development is intended to support the spectrum of new graduate competencies that include veterinary-client-patient centered interactions, alternate career paths, human and financial resources, policy development, welfare and wellbeing, ethical reasoning, and other KSAAABs. The candidate is also expected to develop and implement innovative teaching methodologies, assessment tools, and evaluation criteria to measure veterinary students’ professional skills integration and proficiency. This candidate will also contribute to other curriculum activities associated with their expertise. Currently, the USU CVM participates in a “2+2” program with the College of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University and the broader Washington – Idaho – Montana – Utah (WIMU) Regional Program in Veterinary Medicine that provides instruction to 30 students in each class cohort. However, in 2022 the State of Utah approved the establishment of a full 4-year DVM degree program at USU with the goal of admitting its inaugural class of 40 students in the fall of 2025 and hosting a class of 80 veterinary students beginning in the fall of 2026. This position offers multiple opportunities for professional development in instruction, curriculum design, and innovative teaching methods. USU Eastern Upward Bound is a federally funded grant program designed to encourage post-secondary preparation of high school students who are from low-income families and are first-generation college bound students. We serve 60 high school students from Grand, Emery and Carbon counties. During a six-week summer program, up to 30 Upward Bound students experience intensive academic, cultural and social expansion while living in the residence halls at USU Eastern.   The residential team leader will help supervise 4-6 high school students throughout the week and overnight in the residence halls. They will act as mentors and supervisors to the participants of the Upward Bound Summer Program. The summer program will begin approximately June 2 - July 14. Team Leaders will be asked to come for two days of some training before the start of the program – dates to be determined once all parties are hired.   The successful candidate will also have the opportunity and responsibility to accompany the Upward Bound students on various adventures, and will be required to attend our end of the year trip. This year we will be going to Southern California. All expenses for these trips are included in your compensation (in addition to your base pay) and will not cost you anything. All food and housing is also included for the duration of the six-week summer program.   We are seeking 2 male team leaders. Job offer contingent upon successfully passed background check.
