The Western Forest Initiative (WFI) seeks 4 field crew members to join our team of graduate students and scientists. These positions involve examining old growth forests for growth, mortality and recruitment, mapping down woody debris, measuring fuels, and surveying seedlings and herbaceous plants. Work begins in the Yosemite Forest Dynamics Plot (Yosemite National Park, California), continues to Wind River Forest Dynamics Plot (Gifford Pinchot National Forest, Washington), and finishes in the Utah Forest Dynamics Plot (Cedar Breaks National Monument, Utah). The Brigham City Region of USU is seeking a qualified laboratory coordinator and manager (Education Specialist II). This dynamic individual will oversee and teach anatomy, physiology, microbiology, and other laboratories. They will work to ensure that students understand the fundamentals of each course and strive to ensure positive learning experiences. They will oversee the cadaver lab and other biological and physical science labs and stockrooms. They will interact with students, work with teaching assistants and create an amazing learning environment. As part of their role, they will engage the community to help recruit students and help with on campus events such as the summer science camp. Event Services is a growing department whose primary function is to assure the events hosted by Utah State University, "Exceed Expectations".   The primary purpose of this position is to work under the direction of Equipment and Venue Coordinator. The successful candidate will use discretion and independent judgment in the performance of venue and event related activities completing assigned duties in a timely manner and in accordance with the division's standards. The work hours for this position are flexible and will require some night, weekend, and holiday hours as needed. Regular Shift between 7:30 AM -5:00 PM Monday - Friday. Utah State University Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS; https://www.usu.edu/aggiewellness/mental-health) is seeking a staff psychologist (Clinician II or Psychologist) to provide embedded services to the Emma Eccles Jones College of Education & Human Services (CEHS). This is a fulltime, benefited, 12-month position with an approximate 50/50 split time between CAPS and the embedded site. This position will be based on the USU-Logan campus. Utah State University Extension invites applications for a County Extension faculty, 12 month, professional practice position. Extension faculty develop, implement, evaluate, and coordinate research-based educational programs to enhance quality of life for youth and adults. Extension faculty also recruit, train and supervise volunteer leaders and serve as a liaison between local clientele, other resource agencies, and Utah State University administrators, faculty, and programs. This Extension position is based at Wetlands Discovery Point, a center of the Utah State University Botanical Center (USUBC) in Kaysville, UT. The position will be dedicated to water quality, wetlands and watersheds, and other water related Extension STEM and natural resources programming. The individual hired will coordinate and evaluate existing water quality and wetland outreach programs, as well as develop and assess new programs, displays, and other opportunities. Wetland Discovery Point is accessible to Utah’s population centers along the Wasatch Front and provides many opportunities to develop additional monitoring programs and displays, as well as host educational programs and field trips. Though this position will be based at the USUBC, it will also provide programming for and from other Extension Centers and statewide, as appropriate. The position is administered by the Extension Agriculture and Natural Resources Department and will report directly to the Director of this Department.   The estimated start date for the position is April 22, 2024.   Appointment opportunities include Professional Practice Extension Assistant Professor (non-tenure track). At minimum, a Bachelor's degree and substantial professional experience is required for the Professional Practice Extension Assistant Professor. A Master’s degree is preferred.

The Project Coordinator III position at Utah State University Extension, funded under the Land Grant Tribal Partners TCTAC initiative, is a dynamic and critical role aimed at advancing environmental and energy justice across Utah's rural communities.   This full-time, 12-month position is designed to plan, deliver, coordinate, and evaluate comprehensive technical assistance programs that enhance the capacity of individuals and organizations to address pressing environmental and energy justice priorities. Funded through a collaborative agreement with the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), this role not only supports Utah State University's commitment to diversity and inclusion but also actively seeks to foster and build resilient, empowered communities within the designated region. The incumbent will be instrumental in recruiting, supporting, and providing mentorship to community navigators and program participants, especially those from underserved, rural, remote, and Tribal communities. The position is benefits-eligible and reflecting the significance and impact of the work across the region.   This position is eligible for hybrid work within the state of Utah.   This position is funded for 5 years, but may be longer contingent upon funding.
