The incumbent will be instrumental in recruiting, supporting, and providing mentorship to community navigators and program participants, especially those from underserved, rural, remote, and Tribal communities. Seeking an ecology field technician to assist USU students with scientific field research investigating river productivity and trophic relationships in response to river alteration in the upper Colorado River Basin. Field sites span tributaries in south-central Utah, western Colorado, and northern New Mexico. Work will be field based with some laboratory responsibilities. Work hours will be variable and highly dependent on river flow conditions. Overtime may be required in the field. Field hitches will range from 2-8 days at a time with tent camping for lodging while on field campaigns. A crew of at least two will travel to field sites in a university vehicle, and the technician should be comfortable driving for several hours consecutively as field sites are not proximate to each other. The position will begin in mid-July and run through September, with the potential to extend through early December. Dates are subject to change based on weather and spring runoff. Work is based out of Logan, Utah and the technician is responsible for locating housing and transportation to Logan.

In this role, you'll be responsible for managing office tasks, coordinating travel arrangements, and reconciling purchases. Your contribution will be pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation of the department and fostering effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders.

The Department of Athletics Travel Coordinator (Business Assistant III) will arrange all travel for employees, recruits, candidates, and the athletic teams. This position will analyze travel to ensure strategic budget management while adhering to the Athletic Department, University, and NCAA policies.   Attributes of flexibility, creativity, self-discipline, strong organizational skills, problem solving and action-oriented are essential for this role, as the position offers a significant amount of direct responsibility with accountability.   This position will also act as a liaison with other units of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at Utah State University, as well as with the Cache Valley and Utah State University communities.  This position is an in-office position with standard office hours.

The Biology Tutor position entails providing academic support to students enrolled in BIOL 3060 at the USU Brigham City Campus. Successful candidates will possess a strong command of the subject matter and a proven track record of excellence in the field. A prerequisite for consideration is proficiency in the relevant academic discipline, along with completion of a Biology course aligned with the tutoring responsibilities.

The Department of History at Utah State University (USU) invites applications for a Temporary Assistant Professor of Modern European History with an emphasis in the 20th century and any region. This is a one-year term appointment, renewable for a second year, depending on performance and availability of funds. The faculty member will be responsible for teaching six courses per year, including the second half of the European History survey (HIST 1110), as well as a selection of our existing upper division courses, as appropriate to the candidate’s area of specialization and departmental needs. The anticipated start date of the position is August 2024.  This position is located at USU’s main campus in Logan, and is not eligible for remote work.
