Permaculture is a design framework guided by ethics and principles, mimicking the diversity, functionality and resilience of natural ecosystems.   Position Goal To increase involvement with the USU Moab permaculture garden and affiliated Moab Bee Inspired Gardens - and understanding of permaculture design - by university faculty, students, facilities staff, Grand County residents, and tourists.   Permaculture Permaculture is a design process mimicking the diversity, functionality and resilience of natural ecosystems. The principles and practices are drawn from traditional ecological knowledge of indigenous cultures combined with modern scientific understanding and technological innovations. Permaculture design provides a framework helping individuals and communities develop innovative, creative and effective strategies for meeting basic needs while preparing for and mitigating the projected impacts of climate change.   Salary Compensation includes a bi-monthly stipend of approximately $166 (for a total of $4000 for the 12-month period), and an education stipend of $1,638.89 upon successful completion of the 450 hour commitment. Student Loan Forbearance & Payment of Interest Accrued during the position term. Permaculture training included in/near Moab.

To accomplish this, the facility must comply with industry best practice standards of operation and management.   The ACF has an opening for a temporary part-time position for a production technician that could turn into a permanent part-time position. The production technician will be primarily responsible for producing chocolate products and managing the production line at the factory, however as a new, small business the technician will fulfill other responsibilities as required.
