Overview

The USU Athletics Development office is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our team. This paid internship offers an excellent opportunity for hands-on experience in collegiate athletics fundraising, event planning, and donor relations. The intern will support development operations and play a key role in engaging alumni and supporters of Aggie Athletics.

Responsibilities

  • Event Planning & Execution: Plan, coordinate, and execute one alumni engagement event per semester, working closely with development staff and external vendors to ensure a high-quality experience. Assist with development events such as the Aggie Auction and Big Blue Classic Golf Tournament.
  • Donor Communication: Conduct phone calls with donors to assist with Big Blue Club membership renewals, season ticket renewals, parking and tailgating renewals and new sales, event invitations, and general stewardship efforts. Serve as the primary contact for inbound calls to the Big Blue Club while in the office.
  • Technology & Database Experience: Gain hands-on experience using Paciolan, a leading collegiate athletics ticketing and donor management software. Assist with data entry, reporting, and donor account maintenance.
  • Donor Stewardship: Serve as the primary contact for fulfilling Aggie Access Experiences, ensuring that donors and fans receive exceptional service and memorable interactions with USU Athletics.
  • Giving Day Support: Assist with preparations for A Day of Giving, USU’s annual fundraising campaign by helping organize donor incentives and giveaways and executing stewardship fulfillment.
  • Administrative Support: Provide day-to-day support for the Athletics Development team on a variety of projects, including donor stewardship, mailings, and office organization.

The environment and physical requirements may change depending on the specific function of the work each department performs. Incumbents may be in both indoor and outdoor environments. Indoors, in an office space, event space, or public space are protected from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes. Incumbents may nearly continuously sit and often use repetitive hand motion (such as typing). 

 

Outdoors, incumbents may not be protected from weather conditions and may be exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold. Additionally, indoor or outdoor work environments may include being confined or in narrow spaces for periods of time. The incumbent may also be exposed to loud noises or vibrations from equipment, and conditions that may affect the respiratory system, such as fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, and poor ventilation. Bending, crawling, and crouching may be required. Incumbents may be required to lift, push, and/or pull objects up to 50 pounds and be required to walk and/or stand for long periods of time.
