The School of Professional and Technical Education (SPTE) at Utah State University currently has an opening for a full-time professional Academic Advisor for technical education programs at the USU Blanding Campus. The primary responsibility will be advising students in the health professions technical certificate and associate degree programs in southeastern Utah. Additional technical education programs will also be a part of the advising assignment. These health professions programs include medical laboratory technology, surgical technology, medical assisting, pharmacy tech, nursing assistant, emergency medical technician, and phlebotomy. Other technical education certificates offered at USU Blanding that may be part of the advising responsibilities include apprentice electrician, business, commercial driver's license, construction technology, engineering drafting and design, heavy equipment, information technology, and welding.
It is anticipated that the individual selected for this position will start in September of 2026. This is a full-time, exempt staff position located on the Utah State University Blanding campus. This position's primary role assignment will be advising. Review of applications will begin on September 15, 2026, and application reviews and interviews will continue until the position is filled.
