Overview

In coordination with Cache County School District, the ASPIRE Department at Utah State University is seeking to hire students in Cache County's CAPS program for a short-term internship for students to gain real-word experience in their interested field. This is a unique and distinctive opportunity for individuals to be involved with one of the National Science Foundation’s most prestigious research programs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist staff with assigned tasks and projects.
  • Support program activities, data collection, research, outreach, or technical projects as assigned.
  • Attend scheduled meetings and trainings.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
  • Complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Follow university and department policies and procedures.
  • Contribute positively to a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing experience in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering/Science

This position requires moderate physical activity. Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position including moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds), walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and squatting.  This position requires nearly continuous standing, repetitive hand motions, and reaching overhead.  Employees may be exposed to unusual elements including extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
