Overview

Become a representative of USU Blanding. We are looking for motivated people to join our team that supports faculty, staff, students and community members. This position works with Interactive Video Broadcast, Zoom technology, and students to ensure a positive learning environment. A work schedule is spent greeting students and community members that come to campus, troubleshooting basic technology equipment, and ensuring that the building is prepared for the next day’s classes. This is a part-time position works in Blanding, Utah. The hours range from 19-25 hours per week and may change with each semester

Responsibilities

  • Assist students and instructors by operating classroom equipment that is essential to the delivery of IVC and Zoom classes.
  • Assist with special events.
  • Distribute and collect classroom materials, proctor exams and quizzes, and maintain a proper, quiet, and clean learning environment.
  • Communicate on SLACK with Statewide regional campuses and local areas.
  • Maintain accurate class rolls and attendance records.
  • Act as a liaison between students, University Instructors, and University Administrators.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Requires a basic knowledge of computers, Microsoft Suite; Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Willingness to learn simple technology skills.
  • Must be extremely dependable, maintain confidentiality of student information, and always work with integrity.
  • Be able to communicate effectively face-to-face, over telephone, and on IVC equipment.
  • Experience with operating and trouble-shooting broadcast equipment.

Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes. The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
