Overview

Under the direction of the Supervisor, the Study Hall Monitor will help with:

  • Checking in/out student athletes
  • Monitoring students
  • Finding resources on campus

Responsibilities

  • Open and close the BDAC study lounge at designated times (see below)
  • Monitor check-in/check-out for all student-athletes entering the Library and Learning Center
  • Assist in the maintenance of an effective learning space in both the BDAC and LLC
  • Help student-athletes navigate the university systems used for education
  • Submit nightly report to Supervisor following the end of study hall to outline any concerns
  • Follow all rules and policies of athletic and library staff
  • Maintain good standing regarding the Student Code of Conduct
  • Coordinate with supervisors and other monitors on a weekly basis

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have attended at least some college to the level of Sophomore
  • Maintain a 3.50 semester and overall grade point average
  • Excellent level of responsibility, reliability, and punctuality
  • Cultural sensitivity and an ability to build rapport with a diverse population

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous USU college student familiar with Banner, Canvas, MyUSU, etc.

Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes. The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
