This full-time, non-exempt position is dedicated to installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and evaluating classroom A/V technology. The position will be housed in the Utah State University Logan Campus Classroom Technology Department. This position will report to the Executive Director of Classroom Technology. Typical work hours of 9-6 but there may be some additional evenings and weekend hours when needed to meet the position's responsibilities.
Classroom A/V Installation (60%)—Work as part of the classroom team to install new A/V equipment in classrooms and conference rooms. Some equipment will include Crestron devices, projectors, projector screens, large displays, cameras, computers, and audio systems.
Classroom Support and Maintenance (30%) – Maintained and troubleshoot all classroom technology equipment. Assure high-quality customer service and prompt response to USU staff, administrators, faculty members, students, HELP Desk, and the public with classroom technology support. Working with classroom student employees to perform routine preventative maintenance and repair tasks of classroom technologies.
Training (5%) – Provide training on classroom technologies. Technical procedures and troubleshooting classroom equipment to classroom student employees and the HELP Desk employees. Trains faculty on classroom equipment, including Cisco Systems, Crestron devices, Zoom Room technology, audio systems, laptops, and cameras.
Classroom Technology Design and Evaluation (5%) – Using the latest best practices, market research, and USU standards design technology-enhanced classrooms. Evaluate the effectiveness of the classroom technology in the teaching and learning environment. Contributes advanced knowledge as part of the statewide tech team to develop and follow the USU classroom technology standards.
