Overview

Department of Plant, Soils and Climate, College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences. Entry-level Lecturer (Climate Science). 

 

This Lecturer (Climate Science) position is located in Logan, Utah, which is situated in a spectacular Rocky Mountain valley approximately one and one-half hour drive north of Salt Lake City.

Responsibilities

Successful candidate for this position will: Develop a high-quality teaching portfolio employing hands-on, data-driven learning techniques in Atmospheric and Climate Science; teach three courses per semester to contribute to the department’s bachelor’s degree program in Climate Science; and perform student mentoring, including co-advising students in preparation for professional conferences.

Qualifications

Candidates must have: Master’s degree in Atmospheric Sciences, Meteorology, Climate Dynamics, Physical Oceanography, or a related field (foreign equivalent degree is acceptable); evidence of high-quality teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level; commitment to quality teaching that incorporates hands-on learning and to mentoring of a diverse student body; excellent verbal, written, and social media skills. Required skills and publication/presentation requirements may be earned during advanced educational studies.
