Overview

Assists in completing the daily deposit and customers in the front office.

Responsibilities

Conduct customer service and computer functions in the front office for Parking and Transportation Department (70%)

  • Completes parking permits sales, collects parking citation payments, and provides visitor information in the Parking Office.
  • Negotiates with customers regarding citations
  • Ensures all data is entered accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Processes citations payments received through the mail and in person.
  • Makes suggestions on ways to improve services, efficiency, policy and procedures.
  • Maintains knowledge of all department procedures and parking regulations.
  • Coordinates with the Parking Operations Manager for specific supplemental projects as needed.
  • Assists in the linking of vehicles to issued citations using the Utah Criminal Justice Information System.

Administer the financial affairs for the department (30%)

  • Helps in the preparation of the daily deposit for the Parking Office, Terrace Operations, Motor Pool and events.
  • Resolves accounting discrepancies.
  • Prepares and distributes billing statements to on-campus entities.
  • Initiates and analyzes department computerized reports and disseminates as appropriate.
  • Reconciles P-card transactions, acts as the card holder.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

 

Education and/or Experience

  • Four years of comparable experience; or an associate degree/technical training plus two years of experience; or a bachelor's degree.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office software.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Team-Player.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively.
  • Knowledge of USU Policy and Procedures.
