The Utah Conservation Corps (UCC) Recruitment Assistant supports the program by recruiting and communicating with potential AmeriCorps members. The Recruitment Assistant also assists in other outreach efforts, including social media and marketing. This position is directly supervised by the AmeriCorps Program Manager.

This is a part-time position, temporary position with a flexible schedule and end date. It is telework eligible within the state of Utah. Telework outside of the state of Utah is subject to review and approval by the University prior to a job offer being extended. AmeriCorps requires that the selected candidate must pass a National Service Criminal History background check prior to employment.

• Collaborates with recruiting staff to review and track applications, conduct interviews, and assist in the selection of new UCC members
• Corresponds with candidates and new members through email, voice, video, text, and other communication channels
• Ensures member information is accurately tracked and maintained This includes incoming member data, hiring information, and member/alumni groups (Telegram, Facebook, etc.)
• Acts as a primary point of contact for incoming members regarding questions and resources
• Shares recruitment updates to staff on a regular basis
• Assists with UCC's social media efforts including tracking trends, collecting content, and developing posts
• Maintain and update position announcements on job boards to reflect current recruitment needs and opportunities
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Six months of previous service in a conservation corps or other relevant conservation experience
• Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Proven ability to track details and organize confidential information
• Basic word processing and data management skills
• Ability to juggle multiple projects and effectively prioritize tasks when work assignments change
• Self-starter with a strong work ethic and takes initiative with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience and/or knowledge of social media sites such as TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook
• Experience and/or knowledge of AmeriCorps programs and benefits

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Exceptional listener and communicator who effectively conveys information verbally and in writing
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes.  The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions.
