USU Aviation Technology is seeking a candidate as a lecturer or professional practice assistant professor for a position that focuses on teaching within an FAA Part 147 Aviation Maintenance instructional program. This position requires an individual who provides excellent instruction of aviation classes, with specific focus upon the Airframe and Powerplant content within Aviation Maintenance. Other courses applicable to the broader Aviation Technology fields may be assigned as necessary and appropriate based upon candidate credentials. Candidates must demonstrate effective instructional design, online learning management system knowledge, and course development; and/or a knowledge of applications and the willingness to become proficient. This is a 9-month, academic-year, non-tenure track, benefited position beginning August 1, 2025. Additional funding (up to 3 months) is possible based upon program needs and candidate initiative. The first two academic years will include guaranteed funding for 2 additional months of time and effort. This program will be developed at the Utah State University - Eastern campus in Price, Utah, with a new hangar/laboratory facility being built at the Carbon County Airport. Review of applicants will begin in March 2025 and will continue until the position is filled. Primary course subject responsibilities include content required with a Part 147 maintenance curriculum and aligned with the existing program curriculum at USU’s main campus.

A full-time teaching load for this position is 4-5 courses, with typical load of 24~30 credit hours per academic year.
