Overview

Join the USU Extension Create Better Health (SNAP-ED) Program: Become an integral part of our comprehensive initiative dedicated to supporting low-income individuals and families. Our program offers direct education focusing on basic nutrition, culinary skills, and physical activity for both youth and adults. We provide services in both online and face-to-face settings, contingent upon current conditions. Collaborating closely with community partners, we aim to enhance healthy food access and physical activity opportunities within communities through Policy, Systems, and Environmental (PSE) work. Additionally, we extend our outreach and educational efforts through various social media platforms, serving as influencers in these spaces.

 

Position Overview: We are seeking a qualified individual at the State Office, located on the Main Campus of Utah State University in Logan, UT, with option to work remotely. This is a part-time position, approximately 20 hours per week for 12 weeks, subject to available grant funding. Minimal travel may be required, including occasional in- and out-of-state travel; most meetings and responsibilities will be conducted via Zoom.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Specialized in marketing and promoting the National Nutrition Certification Program (NNCP) to states and partners across the national bringing in program revenue.

Qualifications: Preferably, candidates should have:

  • Familiarity with SNAP-Ed procedures.
  • Knowledge of partnership building and community outreach.

Responsibilities

  • Program Outreach: Responsible for developing an outreach plan to promote the NNCP program with state and regional partners, as well as presenting virtually to potential partners and collaborators on the NNCP program.
    Content Creation: Developing engaging content for social media, newsletters, and promotional materials to highlight the benefits and success of the NNCP program.
  • Market Research: Conduct research to identify potential partners and states that could benefit from the NNCP program. Analyze market trends and competitor strategies to inform marketing efforts.
  • Partnership Development: Reach out to potential partners and stakeholders to establish and maintain relationships. This could include drafting partnership proposals.
  • Data Analysis: Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and outreach efforts. Use data to make informed decisions and adjustments to strategies.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to partners and stakeholders on how to effectively implement and promote the NNCP program.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Be proficient in using technology and computer programs for communication, planning and organizing, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the job site (mileage will be reimbursed for up to 100 miles).
  • Have a growth/learning mindset.
  • Have experience demonstrating strong organization skills.
  • Be willing to contribute to a team and work collaboratively as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of Create Better Health, SNAP-Ed, and the National Nutrition Certification Program (NNCP).
  • Experience in research.
  • Experience in outreach and partnership building.
  • Experience in developing and utilizing immersive learning opportunities.
