The College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences and the Technology, Design, and Technical Education business services team is seeking a Business Assistant II for the USU Eastern (Price) Campus. The successful candidate’s primary responsibilities include providing support in hiring, inventory, payroll, purchasing, and travel services, which will contribute to the success of the Career and Technical Education department. This position requires an individual to be detail-oriented, act with high integrity, operate autonomously, provide excellent customer service, and contribute effectively to the team.

Provide Hiring, Onboarding, Payroll, and Leave Management Services:
• Submits timely and accurate job postings for hourly or salaried positions.
• Collects required hiring forms and securely maintains personnel files as needed.
• Meets with new employees to complete I-9s
• Submits employment action form requests
• Runs reports to ensure hourly employees are set up in the time tracking system and processes biweekly payroll.
Provide Purchasing Services:
• Coordinate purchase requests from faculty/staff.
• Reviews receipts from cardholders and/or delegates for policy/procedure adherence and appropriate use, and approves the transactions in the P-Card system.
• Make purchases in accordance with University policies and practices.
Provide Travel Services:
• Reviews and approves Travel Authorizations & Travel Reimbursements in accordance with travel policies and procedures
• Provides professional customer service, responds to questions by phone, in person, and by email in a prompt, courteous manner
Provide Inventory Tracking Support:
• Gathers information for non-capital inventory items, enters them in the AssetView asset tracking system, updates as non-capital inventory items change, and coordinates with equipment management on capital inventory adjustments.
• Coordinates with faculty and staff to physically inventory assets annually.
• Assist the business manager in tracking the department’s fleet.
Provide Other Financial & Departmental Support:
• Processes journal vouchers as designated.
• Process student scholarship payments
• Analyze data and generate reports
• Prepare and distribute invoices
• Monitor project status to ensure correctness and completion.
• Develop and maintain record-keeping systems, spreadsheets, and databases to track information.
• Provides support to the business manager on the monthly reconciliation of designated indexes.
• Provide support to the business manager and the department in administering contracts and grants.
• Coordinate documents for business transactions.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
