Overview

The Cache County Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) Program - Teacher Early Intervention supports the Lead MIECHV Home Visitor with coordinating staff meetings. They provide mentorship training with hourly home visitors to ensure Parents and Teachers (PAT) curriculum is met with fidelity. In addition they supervise university student interns, ensuring they following Cache Co. MIECHV Policy and Procedures and compliance. The Teacher Early Intervention II ensures and model exemplary team work and collaboration with other home visitors and early childhood programs.

Responsibilities

Program Administration Duties:

  • Ensures public awareness, child find, education of primary referral sources.
  • Provides training university student interns and support personnel development.
  • Plans, schedules, assigns, monitors, and supports the work of assigned students.
  • Coordinates projects and delegates job assignments to team members.
  • Partners with other colleges to provide internships for students from varying departments related to early childhood and MIECHV home visiting.
  • Participate in Institute for Disability Research, Policy & Practice (IDRPP) meetings, retreats and weekly check-ins.
  • Participate with the programs Advisory Committee and attend meetings and other community partner meetings.
  • Build and Maintain relationships with other community partners and early childhood programs.
  • Coordinate with MIECHV Lead Home Visitor and Program Coordinator regarding survey development, distribution and data analytics for program growth and improved outcomes.

Supervision and Special Events:

  • Supervises students and interns within the program.
  • Mentors hourly employees striving to meet high quality standard for the provision of home visiting services.
  • Coordinates collaboration with community early childhood partners to facilitate outreach, networking and shared events.
  • Participate in event planning.
  • Organizes special events in coordination with Program Director and Lead MIECHV Home Visitor by participating in networking, outreach and other responsibilities that support the event.

Direct Services:

  • Provide direct services to children and their families using the PAT model. Refer children and families to appropriate programs.
  • Coordinate and organize group connections.
  • Utilizes Visit Tracker and PAT Curriculum Software maintaining accurate documentation.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Human Development, Special Education, or related field plus 1 year of related experience.
  • Certified in relevant training; Baby Watch Credentialed or Parents As Teachers Foundations 1 and 2 Certifications.
  • Fluent in Spanish including speaking, reading and writing Spanish.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children in early childhood programs or educational settings or home environments.
  • Experience teaching and working with families with young children.
  • Experience with FAN Model.
  • Experience working with Home Visiting, PAT Programs or MEICHV.
  • Experience developing, and distributing surveys.
  • Experience interpreting data from surveys or other outcome measures for programmatic development use.
  • Experience with community outreach, networking and event planning.

The Institute for Disability Research, Policy, & Practice is one of the largest research and outreach centers at USU, and we are largely funded through grants, contracts, and fee-for-service programs. All staff positions at the IDRPP are contingent upon funding, and all senior staff at the IDRPP with graduate degrees are responsible for helping to generate funding to support our operations and growth.
