Overview

The Utah FFA Foundation is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to serve as its next Foundation Director. This role is essential in advancing the mission of the Utah FFA by leading fundraising efforts, managing financial operations, and promoting the Foundation’s vision across the state and beyond.

 

This position is eligible for hybrid work within the state of Utah

Responsibilities

Fundraising & Development:

  • Lead and execute all fundraising initiatives, including capital campaigns and donor engagement.
  • Identify and cultivate funding opportunities and partnerships.
  • Research, identify, and pursue grant opportunities aligned with the Foundation’s mission and strategic goals.
  • Provide timely summaries of fundraising activities to the Board of Trustees.

Marketing & Communications:

  • Maintain and update the information for the Foundation’s website pages.
  • Work with Utah FFA social media manager on Foundation social media presence.
  • Represent the Foundation at FFA and community events.
  • Work with Utah FFA marketing manager to develop promotional materials and donor recognition strategies.

Administrative Leadership:

  • Plan and administer Foundation operations in collaboration with Utah FFA Events.
  • Prepare agendas and minutes for Board of Trustees meetings.
  • Support the Utah FFA Executive Director and Board with strategic initiatives.

Financial Management:

  • Maintain sound accounting practices and donor records.
  • Coordinate with the Foundation Treasurer on budgeting, fund management, and financial reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with 501(c)(3) charitable organization standards.

Program Management:

  • Oversee the planning, promotion, and execution of Foundation-supported programs, including scholarships, grants, and special initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Utah FFA staff and stakeholders to align programs with strategic goals and student impact.
  • Manage application processes, selection committees, and award distribution for scholarships and grants.
  • Monitor program outcomes and prepare reports for the Board of Trustees and donors.
  • Ensure timely advertising and outreach for all Foundation programs through appropriate channels.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field plus two years of relevant work experience; or a master’s degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education plus experience is required.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting and basic accounting practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines independently.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and professionally with diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in agricultural education, FFA, or youth leadership organizations.
  • Experience in fundraising, donor relations, or nonprofit development.
  • Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Bloomerang) and donor database management.
  • Experience coordinating events and volunteer teams.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit governance and 501(c)(3) compliance.
