Overview

The Accounts Payable Office within the Controller’s Office is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented professional to join our team. This is a full-time, on-site desk position that offers stability and the chance to make a meaningful impact. If you enjoy working with numbers, bookkeeping, and accounting tasks—and you find satisfaction in accuracy and organization—this role may be a great fit for you. In this position, you will support the daily operations of the department by processing payments, providing excellent customer service, and assisting with a variety of accounts payable functions. You’ll also have the opportunity to grow your skills in a supportive and collaborative environment while contributing to the financial integrity of the university. We are looking for someone who takes pride in being dependable, detail-oriented, and enjoys solving problems with numbers.

Responsibilities

  • Process payments in the university’s e-procurement system (USU EZ-BUY)
  • Prepare, sort, seal, and mail university checks, including delivery to the Cashier’s Office or other campus locations as needed.
  • Provide front-line customer service to students, faculty, and staff at the counter and by phone.
  • Answer and direct multiple telephone lines in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Perform other accounts payable–related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two years of relevant experience or an associate degree
  • Proficiency working in multiple computer programs simultaneously (Windows, Excel, web browsers)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with USU’s Banner Finance System
  • Bookkeeping or accounting-related experience, or an associate’s degree/certification in business or a related field
  • Knowledge of university travel policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of accounts payable processes and practices
