Overview

Join the team at Utah State University’s Nursing Department in Logan, Utah! If you are enthusiastic about hands-on work, technology, and supporting the learning experience of nursing students, this role might be the perfect fit for you! We are seeking a motivated and proactive part-time Simulation Technician to support our simulation events, providing essential technical assistance to the Simulation Coordinator, nursing students, and faculty.

Responsibilities

Technical Systems Maintenance:

  • Operate, support, and troubleshoot manikins, A/V equipment, task trainers, and other training tools.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order of equipment and supplies; restock inventory as needed.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot computer systems and other related technologies.

Simulation Operations:

  • Ensure simulators (manikins) are programmed and in good working condition prior to simulations.
  • Organize, set up, and take down the simulation environment.
  • Collaborate with facilitators to operate essential equipment during simulations.
  • Modify the simulation environment as needed to enhance the simulation experience.
  • Maintain accurate records of simulation exercises.

Training and Support for Student Technical Assistants (TA’s):

  • Train student assistants in operational, technical, and logistical aspects of running simulations.
  • Provide support and mentoring for student assistants in managing simulations.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree from an accredited institution or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and operating audio/visual (A/V) equipment.
    Proficiency in computer programs including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and email.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year of experience in a clinical environment.
  • Experience working with highly technical A/V equipment.
  • Experience in a human patient simulation program and virtual reality.

Advertised Salary

$15.00-20.00 per Hour
