Overview

Job Summary:

The newly remodeled Skyroom restaurant is seeking reliable, skilled line cooks and prep cooks with 1–2 years of professional kitchen experience. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include preparing high-quality dishes, maintaining kitchen standards, and supporting the culinary team.

 

Positions Needed:

  • 1–2 Dough Makers (7:00 a.m.–10:00 a.m.)
  • 8–10 Line Cooks (varied hours between 8:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.; subject to change based on availability)
  • 2 Prep Cooks (varied hours; plating desserts and general prep as needed)

The Skyroom operating hours:

  • Monday–Thursday: 8:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.
  • Friday: 8:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
  • Closed Saturday & Sunday

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards.
  • Set up and stock workstations with necessary supplies.
  • Ensure food is cooked and presented consistently and attractively.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen equipment.
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Assist with prep work and inventory management.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff.
  • Adapt to changing menus and special dietary requests.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1–2 years of line cook experience in a professional kitchen
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment
  • Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistency
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Positive, team-oriented mindset
  • Flexibility to work morning or evening shifts

Preferred Qualifcations: 

  • Culinary school training or certification
  • Familiarity with kitchen ticketing systems and POS integration

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
  • Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Manual dexterity to handle knives, kitchen tools, and equipment safely.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and reach frequently throughout the shift.
  • Tolerance for exposure to noise, heat, and cleaning chemicals.
