Overview

Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Retail Operations, the Hub Operations Manager oversees the daily functions for one or more of Dining Service's retail operations. They are expected to lead a team of employees to create high-quality customer service. Promotes and exemplifies Dining Services’ Mission of “Creating an Excellent College Experience” as well as our P.R.E.D.I.C.T. Core Values.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the overall operation, including day-to-day operations as well as administrative functions of the operation.
  • Manages personnel, including hiring, training, scheduling, disciplinary functions, and all associated paperwork.
  • Supervises the maintenance of operational space, including organizing daily schedules, inspecting and monitoring work areas, and examining equipment for reliability.
  • Develops, maintains, and implements policies and procedures for The Hub under the direction of the General Manager
  • When applicable, works with culinary support to order and maintain inventory and supplies.
  • Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal health, safety, and employment laws and regulations.
  • Coordinates with the Marketing team and direct supervisor to develop marketing strategies.
  • Works with direct supervisor and culinary support to develop menus and change prices as needed.
  • Works with direct supervisor to develop and review annual, capital and labor budgets, and to approve purchases.
  • Works weekends and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4 years of related experience, including supervisor experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • ServSafe Certification or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years Supervisory/Management experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient Computer Skills (MS Office)
  • Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
  • Ability to train and supervise employees.
  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service and satisfaction.
  • Ability to foster team work.

Depending on role, employees work indoors and outdoors but are normally protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not necessarily occasional temperature changes. Employees are frequently required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and arms.
