Overview

The Assistant Director of Women's Basketball Operations and Video Coordinator is responsible for assisting overall administrative and logistical management of the women's basketball program, while also assisting and overseeing all video, technology, and analytical needs for the coaching staff and student-athletes. This position is a critical support role for the Head Coach and must adhere to all institutional, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.

 

This is a temporary position and is not eligible for benefits.

Responsibilities

Asst. Director of Operations (DOBO) Duties:

  • Team Travel: Collaborate, Plan, arrange, and support all aspects of team travel for both home and away contests, including transportation (flights, buses), lodging, catering/meals, and development of detailed itineraries.
  • Recruiting Logistics: Coordinate all logistical details for prospective student-athlete official and unofficial visits, Assist with general recruiting mailings and database management.
  • Compliance & Administration: Assist and Serve as a liaison to the Athletics Compliance office, ensuring the program's adherence to all NCAA, Conference, and University rules. Manage all administrative tasks as requested by the Head Coach, including internal office flow, team schedules, and facility usage reservations.
  • Event Planning: Collaborate, and execute special events such as team banquets, alumni gatherings, community service initiatives, and summer camps/clinics (including registration, staffing, and logistics).

Video Coordinator Duties:

  • Game and Practice Video: Assist with coordinating the comprehensive recording, breakdown, and editing of all practices and games (home and away).
  • Scouting Video: Assist with preparing detailed opponent scouting videos and individual player edits for the coaching staff.
  • Technology & Equipment: Maintain, update, and troubleshoot all video and computer equipment (cameras, editing systems, projectors, monitors). Stay current on cutting-edge video and analytical technology specific to basketball.
  • Software Proficiency: Utilize advanced video editing and analytical software (e.g., Synergy, Hudl Sportscode, FastModel) to produce various edits for instruction, scouting, and recruiting.
  • Video Library: Maintain an organized, up-to-date digital video library and database for current and archived footage.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience in collegiate basketball operations, video, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with basketball-specific video editing and analytical software (e.g., Sportscode, Synergy, Hudl).
  • Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, particularly as they apply to video and recruiting.
  • Excellent organizational, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work a demanding schedule, including nights, weekends, and extensive travel.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Sports Management or a related field.
  • Prior experience as a student-athlete, manager, or staff member in a collegiate Division I basketball program.
  • Experience with graphic design and social media management for an athletic program.
