Overview

USU Ticket Operations is looking for Ticket Clerks for the Fine Arts and the Athletics Ticket Offices. We are the first point of contact for our patrons/customers and strive to provide the best possible experience as they enter the world of entertainment and experiences. Employees are expected to work some daytime office hours and are required to work every home football game. All other hours are flexible and vary with the schedule of home games/events which mainly include nights, weekends and some holidays. 

Responsibilities

  • Answering questions and providing friendly customer service.
  • Selling tickets for all ticketed events in the USU Athletics and Caine School of the Arts venues.
  • Enforcing departmental polices and following proper cash handling procedures.
  • Communicating and referring problems to the manager in charge.
  • Making outbound calls and building positive relationships with all customer/patron.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Employees must be able to demonstrate a positive attitude and know how to communicate clearly in a team environment.
  • In addition to working variable hours, those at events are also expected to maintain a professional appearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Individuals who have been involved in or have knowledge of arts or sports events at Utah State University are preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • A high degree of professionalism along with tactful communication and strong people skills are key in this position.
  • The ability to problem solve as well as execute instructions quickly in a calm and organized manner is a must.

The environment and physical requirements may change depending on the specific function of the work each department performs. Incumbents may be in both indoor and outdoor environments. Indoors, in an office space, event space, or public space are protected from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes. Incumbents may nearly continuously sit and often use repetitive hand motion (such as typing). Outdoors, incumbents may not be protected from weather conditions and may be exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
