Overview

Provide administrative support and/or secretarial duties for the Office of Advising & Student Services at USU Eastern. This is an on campus position at the USU Eastern campus in Price, Utah.

 

Reporting and Supervisory Responsibilities:
The position is supervised by Director of Advising & Student Services who will also conduct performance evaluations. This classification may train and guide hourly and/or student staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide front desk support and manage customer inquiries through various channels including answering phones, emails, and text messages.
  • Maintain calendars (includes appointment reminders, checking in reserved appointments, rescheduling, and cancelling/blocking appointments as needed, etc.).
  • Update and send Advising & Student Services related communications to students and parents.
  • Facilitate academic advising outreach for new students including sending the advising syllabus, updating advisor assignments, and requesting batch uploads of Degree Works plans.
  • Facilitate orientation outreach for newly admitted students including reminders to complete online orientation modules.
  • Maintain academic advisor assignments in Banner and run other reports as needed to support the office.
  • Maintain and recommend edits for office websites.
  • Work closely with Director and take lead on student worker coordination, training, and scheduling.
  • Update and revise online orientation modules as needed.
  • Provide administrative support for the USU 1010 Connections course.
  • Update Advising & Student Services materials and handouts as needed.
  • Collaborate with marketing on Advising & Student Service department needs.
  • Purchase items, process P-Card transactions, process Travel paperwork, and provide other clerical support for Advising & Student Services.
  • Work with other departments within the building and on campus as needed.
  • Assist Advising & Student Services with other duties as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED or aptitude is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree or 2 years of experience
