GEAR UP Utah College Access Advisor Partnership with USU Teacher Education and Leadership Department and Cache County School District.   This is a part-time position. Total hours are 25 hours per week working primarily 9-1pm per day at one of the high schools (Position avaiable at Ridgeline High School and Mountain Crest High School). The hiring term in 8 months beginning about November 2021 and ending on June 30, 2022.   Utah State University offers a Community Health Worker (CHW) Program Assistant position as part of USU’s mission to make its academic programs accessible throughout the state. The position will be located at the USU Eastern Campus (Carbon County). The position will support Health Professions programs and students in the communities and the surrounding areas. The Community Health Worker (CHW) Program Assistant supports the Blanding Community Health Worker Program Coordinator, located in San Juan County, in initiating the CHW Core Skills Training in Southeast Utah, in collaboration with industry partners including the Utah Department of Health and healthcare providers in the regions.   The CHW Program Assistant is supervised by the USU Health Professions Director, Michele Lyman. The CHW Program Assistant will work with the CHW Coordinator to implement the CHW program in southeast Utah. The Community Health Worker training complements existing health professions programs at USU Moab, Eastern, and Blanding campuses providing traditional clinical prevention training through use of evidence-based services. The CHW Program Assistant provides training to community members in the implementation of innovative clinical prevention strategies outside of the clinical setting, offering interventions that will reach whole populations -- not only those with access to the traditional healthcare system.   The Program Assistant II position will work with USU and community entities within the Southeast service area to attract and retain students in the community health worker certification. The Program Assistant II will identify the important roles community health workers execute within the clinic setting, schools, local health departments and with major employers in the region. The Program Assistant II serves as a mentor to trainees within the Community Health Worker Core Skills Certification training, assisting them to navigate the online curriculum, proving guidance in structuring public health focused final projects and providing peer support.    Assist in the implementation of the Peer/Family Support Specialist in cooperation with USU Extension's $2.3M grant.   The final graduation ceremony will be planned by the Program Assistant. The position will interface with the USU Eastern CTE Coordinator, AVP for CTE in Southeast Campuses, AVP of USU Eastern, USU Director of Health Professions, and AVTE CTE Department Head to strategically plan program sustainability.

The Event Operations Assistant works under the direction of the Assistant Director overseeing major campus events and logistics.
