Utah State University (USU) Extension and the Center for Anticipatory Intelligence (CAI) are jointly seeking to hire a professional practice full-time faculty member with expertise in intelligence studies, disruptive emergent technologies, or security studies at the global, national, or organizational level. In addition to teaching campus courses and conducting research, Extension faculty develop, provide, evaluate, and coordinate research-based educational programs for state communities. Extension faculty also serve as a liaison between local partners, other resource agencies, and Utah State University administrators, faculty, and programs. This position includes Extension, Teaching, and Research responsibilities.
An office will be provided on the USU Logan Campus. Utah State University’s main Logan campus is located in Cache County, located in the far northern part of Utah. Cache County’s north border abuts the south border of the state of Idaho. Cache County is a scenic mountain valley that offers numerous outdoor activities such as skiing, fishing, hiking, camping, and mountain biking.
The position requires knowledge of one or more of the following areas: intelligence studies, disruptive emergent technologies, or security studies at the global, national, or organizational level. A STEM background is preferred. We welcome candidates with diverse interests and experience related to these areas.

Responsibilities include identifying, creating, and distributing personalized and targeted communication and connections through announcements, ads, groups, pages, and tools to all USU audiences informing them of university tools, services, organizations, and programs university wide. This position has funding secured through Fall 2025, with prolonged duration contingent upon funding and requirements of the department.

The Prevention/Supportive Measures Specialist (Prevention Specialist) will support the implementation of USU's student, faculty, and staff trainings, programs, and activities to prevent and support individuals who have experienced sexual misconduct and discrimination on the USU-Eastern campus. This position will use a public health and strategic, proactive, and collaborative approach to implement and strengthen USU's sexual misconduct and discrimination prevention efforts in order to promote the health and safety of USU-Eastern's students, faculty, and staff. The Prevention Specialist will also advise a diverse population of individuals who have experienced sexual misconduct or discrimination, or who are involved in a Title IX investigation. The Prevention Specialist will be responsible for using trauma-informed principles while working to implement university supportive measures.
The Prevention Specialist may be required to work outside of regular business hours in order to facilitate trainings and programs and some travel from the USU-Eastern campus to other USU campuses may be required.
