Utah State University’s Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) invites applications to fill a tenure track faculty position in structural engineering, with an emphasis on earthquake engineering. It is expected that this position will be filled at the Assistant or Associate Professor level; however, outstanding candidates will be considered at all levels. Applicants should have expertise in one or more of the following areas related to structural earthquake engineering: large-scale experimental testing, hybrid simulation, high performance computing, numerical modeling, performance-based earthquake engineering, community resilience, seismic assessment of complex infrastructure systems under compound earthquake and climatic hazards, probabilistic seismic hazard analyses and loss modeling, seismic retrofitting and rehabilitation, non-destructive evaluation, and soil-structure interaction. Professional registration and prior academic or practical experience are also desirable.
Utah State University (USU) recently received $2.5M from the Utah legislature to initiate formation of the Utah Earthquake Engineering Center. This tenure-track position in structural earthquake engineering represents USU’s commitment to support the center, and the hired faculty member will be involved in selecting, installing, and operating the new equipment and facilities for the center. The structural engineering group at USU includes five tenured/tenure-track faculty with research interests in: infrastructure resiliency, earthquake engineering, fire engineering, multi-hazard (natural and human) risk assessment, low-carbon construction materials, and non-destructive testing and evaluation. The CEE Department also has unique experimental equipment and facilities, such as the Systems, Materials, and Structural Health (SMASH) Laboratory, which contribute to cutting-edge studies both in the laboratory and in the field. The successful applicant will contribute significantly to both the research and teaching efforts within the department and across the broader university community.

The Senior Prevention Specialist will oversee a legally compliant implementation, management, evaluation, and institutionalization of USU’s system-wide student, faculty, and staff engagement programs and activities to prevent sexual misconduct and discrimination.
This position will use a strategic, proactive, and collaborative approach to lead and develop a coordinated system-wide sexual misconduct and discrimination prevention plan for students, staff and faculty. This key position will strengthen USU’s approach to sexual misconduct and discrimination prevention to promote the health and safety of USU students and employees. Edith Bowen Laboratory School is looking for School substitutes. This position is an as needed basis during the 2023-2024 public school year. This person serves as a substitute for teachers or classroom aides that are absent. Jobs are typically assigned as either a half-day (4 hours) or full-day (7.5 hours). Compensation will be paid on a daily rate based on qualifications.

The site coordinator will oversee the afterschool program at a school in Kearns. They will work with educators, parents, and students in Kindergarten to 8th grade. The successful applicant will work up to 25 hours a week implementing afterschool work and inputting data to illustrate grant success. The site coordinator will be the primary liaison between families and the afterschool program.

Specialized tutoring includes daily help in each core subject area (language arts, science, math). The hired individual will provide psychiatry services to clients of the Sorenson Center and engage interdisciplinary work with other providers to insure coordinated care of clients.
