The Garfield County Office of Utah State University Extension is seeking an individual to provide 4-H programming for junior high and high school aged youth in the Bryce Valley area. This is a part time, 3 to 4 month position that does not include benefits. We are looking for an individual that is a self starter who can work well with minimal supervision, and who is enthusiastic and engages well with teenagers. The job would entail recruiting and marketing to youth, planning and implementing activities weekly and reporting. We anticipate our instructor working 10-20 hours per week.
USU Extension in Wayne County is seeking a creative and positive person to work as a Program Assistant to Extension Faculty. Hours will be Monday-Friday 8 am to 5 pm in the USU Extension office in Wayne County. This is a full-time benefited position. Applicants should be able to work well independently and in a team. Some evening and weekend work may be necessary. This position is administratively responsible to the Wayne County Home and Community Faculty.
USU Extension, Iron County has a position available immediately or as soon as a suitable candidate is found. The 4-H and Youth Programs Coordinator I is a full time, 40 hours per week position, eligible for full benefits. The primary role of the 4-H Program Coordinator is to support the Extension Youth Program effort in three areas: volunteer recruitment and training, youth participant recruitment/retention and seeking donations (financial and in kind) to grow and expand the local program.
This position will work closely with teen and adult volunteers/mentors, provide volunteer training, and oversight, and build the overall capacity to meet community needs as well as statewide priorities. USU Extension Youth Programs focus on the areas of: STEM/STEAM, Agriculture/Natural Resources, Healthy Living, Civic Engagement and Communicative/Expressive Arts. The position also includes supervisory roles over two part-time 4-H staff.

This Extension position is based at Wetlands Discovery Point, a center of the Utah State University Botanical Center (USUBC) in Kaysville, UT. The position will be dedicated to water quality, wetlands and watersheds, and other water related Extension STEM and natural resources programming. The individual hired will coordinate and evaluate existing water quality and wetland outreach programs, as well as develop and assess new programs, displays, and other opportunities. Wetland Discovery Point is accessible to Utah’s population centers along the Wasatch Front and provides many opportunities to develop additional monitoring programs and displays, as well as host educational programs and field trips. Though this position will be based at the USUBC, it will also provide programming for and from other Extension Centers and statewide, as appropriate. The position is administered by the Extension Agriculture and Natural Resources Department and will report directly to the Director of this Department.

Equine-assisted services (EAS) are provided for the community by university faculty, who are also industry-certified instructors, with the assistance of trained students, volunteers, and specially prepared horses. The EAS program is well supported through robust infrastructure, including the new Robert A. Adams Arena at the ADVS South Farm Complex, located just 15 minutes from the USU Logan main campus. This approximately 29,000 sq. ft. structure is large enough to accommodate dressage competitions and provides a dedicated space for delivering instruction and programming in equine-assisted services. The arena also houses a riding simulator studio to support instruction and research, one of only 10 in the country and the only riding simulator used in a university setting. An office will be provided at either an Extension or University location in Logan. This position reports to the Director of the Extension Agriculture and Natural Resources Department.

This position, located in Logan, Utah, is responsible for directing the Utah Agriculture in the Classroom (AITC) program as part of Utah State University Extension. The program staff develops, promotes, and presents PreK-12 teacher resources as a member of the National Agriculture in the Classroom Organization. The program is designed to enhance the ability of teachers to increase student knowledge in agricultural literacy while meeting mandatory Utah core standards in science, social studies, nutrition, and career and technical education. This is a fiscal year (12-month), tenure-track appointment within the Applied Sciences, Technology & Education Department in the College of Agriculture & Applied Sciences at Utah State University.
This position will be approximately 95% Extension, and 5% service.

Instructor Positions are available at all three Garfield County Sites (Bryce Valley, Escalante, and Panguitch). We need educators to teach a variety of subject matters; such as, but not limited to Sewing, STEM, Cake Decorating, Music, Art, Etc. Instructor may teach 4+ days a week depending on program needs and instructor availability. Instructors need to be available from 3:00-6:00 on days they are teaching M-Th and 12:00-1:30 p Friday.
Pay is based on qualifications - Starting at $8 per hour. Up to $12 per hour.
The San Juan County Office of Utah State University Extension is seeking qualified individuals to fill multiple 4-H Afterschool Educator positions. As a 4-H Afterschool Educator, you will be required to provide enriching 4-H afterschool clubs for students at Blanding Elementary School.
- 4-H Afterschool Educators need to be available Monday-Thursday 3:00 pm-6:00 pm for the entire 23-24 academic school year.
- The position will pay $15.00 per hour for up to 12hrs per week.
- This position can also be continued as an educator for the Blanding Elementary Summer School program for up to 20hrs per week.

4-H After School is a grant funded program designed to help youth enjoy enriching club activities in out of school time. Club leaders instruct groups of youth through various curriculum over the school year.
Afterschool Educators will oversee the daily activities associated with the afterschool program, will work closely with the afterschool coordinator and school administrators to ensure that youth are engaging in positive youth development activities. This position will be at multiple locations.
The San Juan County Office of Utah State University Extension is seeking a qualified individual to fill an After-school Teacher Position. As an After-school Teacher, you will be required to assist the After-school Coordinator and Educators who are providing 4-H After-school clubs for students at Blanding Elementary School. The after-school Teacher will need to be available Monday-Thursday 3:00 pm-6:00 pm for the entire 22-23 academic school year. The position will pay $25 per hour for up to 10hrs per week. This position can also be continued into the Blanding Elementary Summer School program for up to 16 hours per week.
