The Duchesne County office of Utah State University Extension seeks a qualified individual to assist in coordinating countywide, youth programs consistent with the county 4-H team. General duties include recruiting youth and volunteers to actively participate in 4-H, providing educational experiences, and representing the principles of positive youth development through 4-H programs. This position will also have duties related to assisting with 4-H Horse Shows, Livestock Show, and County Fair. Occasional travel may be required for trainings and/or statewide 4-H events.

Utah State University Facilities is seeking to fill the role for a Major Projects Shop Representative (Engineering Technician SR). The primary responsibility of this position is to represent the interests of the maintenance shops on major construction projects managed by the Planning and Design department. This role is involved in projects from Design Development through Construction and the 1st year of operation. You will assist with design and construction reviews, help coordinate efforts to assure compliance with building codes, university standards, project plans and specifications in the modification of existing and new construction of university facilities. Leads will also assist in integrating equipment and system information into the Facilities Preventative Maintenance system.
Involves and coordinates maintenance shops in design reviews and site-walks for major construction activities on campus projects from completion of bidding and award of construction contracts to final acceptance. Inspects and reviews all construction and remodeling projects for maintainability during all phases of planning and construction to ensure that projects conform to the needs and requirements of the university. Supports project management through the 1-year warranty period by investigating and identifying any project related issues, while also helping to determine how it should be resolved.
The successful candidate must be self-motivated, detail oriented, process driven and be able to communicate effectively inter-personally, through documentation and by email. Documentation and file management is key to managing time and workloads across multiple projects that are simultaneously in progress. Understanding of the interactions of multiple construction disciplines is essential, or have a proven record of curiosity, learning and understanding areas you are unfamiliar with. The Western Forest Initiative (WFI) seeks 4 field crew members to join our team of graduate students and scientists. These positions involve examining old growth forests for growth, mortality and recruitment, mapping down woody debris, measuring fuels, and surveying seedlings and herbaceous plants. Work begins in the Yosemite Forest Dynamics Plot (Yosemite National Park, California), continues to Wind River Forest Dynamics Plot (Gifford Pinchot National Forest, Washington), and finishes in the Utah Forest Dynamics Plot (Cedar Breaks National Monument, Utah). Two lab trucks will carry gear and any technicians who do not have or do not want to bring a personal vehicle.

Event Services is a growing department whose primary function is to assure the events hosted by Utah State University, "Exceed Expectations".
The primary purpose of this position is to work under the direction of Equipment and Venue Coordinator. The successful candidate will use discretion and independent judgment in the performance of venue and event related activities completing assigned duties in a timely manner and in accordance with the division's standards. The work hours for this position are flexible and will require some night, weekend, and holiday hours as needed. Regular Shift between 7:30 AM -5:00 PM Monday - Friday. This job position will work through the Summer as well as during the school year.
