The Sr. Director of Development-Gift Planning (Development Officer SR) provides overall guidance and management of the planned giving program and team. She/he is responsible for the acquisition of philanthropic planned gifts and evaluating gift planning officer performance. This position will collaborate with NatureServe, a national biodiversity conservation organization that prioritizes species conservation. The candidate will join a team of botanists, data managers, and developers who work with state and federal partners to provide information on the extent, condition, and vulnerability of species and ecosystems. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development, analysis and visualization of species data used to guide management and conservation decisions of biodiversity in Utah. Utah State University’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) invites applications to fill two faculty positions in cybersecurity engineering: one tenure-track position (research and teaching) and one professor-of-practice position (teaching emphasis). It is expected that these positions will be filled at the Assistant or Associate Professor level; however, candidates with exceptional experience will be considered at the rank of (full) Professor. Applicants should have expertise in cybersecurity engineering in areas such as: • Computer hardware or embedded system security • Power system security • Control, guidance, navigation, autonomous system security • Communication system security • Sensors and signal processing system security.   Two faculty positions have opened to develop the focus area of cybersecurity engineering. The hired faculty members will be involved in designing curriculum and creating and teaching courses and hands-on laboratory experiences to provide students the knowledge and skills that make them highly qualified to join the cyber workforce in the industry, government, and national labs. The successful applicant for the tenure-track position will also contribute significantly to the research efforts within the department and across the broader university community.   The search committee will begin considering applications on October 15, 2023, and continue until the position is filled. Utah State University’s Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) invites applications to fill a tenure track faculty position in structural engineering, with an emphasis on earthquake engineering. It is expected that this position will be filled at the Assistant or Associate Professor level; however, outstanding candidates will be considered at all levels. Applicants should have expertise in one or more of the following areas related to structural earthquake engineering: large-scale experimental testing, hybrid simulation, high performance computing, numerical modeling, performance-based earthquake engineering, community resilience, seismic assessment of complex infrastructure systems under compound earthquake and climatic hazards, probabilistic seismic hazard analyses and loss modeling, seismic retrofitting and rehabilitation, non-destructive evaluation, and soil-structure interaction. Professional registration and prior academic or practical experience are also desirable.   Utah State University (USU) recently received $2.5M from the Utah legislature to initiate formation of the Utah Earthquake Engineering Center. This tenure-track position in structural earthquake engineering represents USU’s commitment to support the center, and the hired faculty member will be involved in selecting, installing, and operating the new equipment and facilities for the center. The structural engineering group at USU includes five tenured/tenure-track faculty with research interests in: infrastructure resiliency, earthquake engineering, fire engineering, multi-hazard (natural and human) risk assessment, low-carbon construction materials, and non-destructive testing and evaluation. The CEE Department also has unique experimental equipment and facilities, such as the Systems, Materials, and Structural Health (SMASH) Laboratory, which contribute to cutting-edge studies both in the laboratory and in the field.
