The position is for one year, with possible renew for multiple years depending on performance and available funding. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or closely related fields. Candidates must demonstrate experiences and quality publications in computational fluid dynamics (CFD), including but not limited to, immersed-boundary methods, reduced order modeling, wall-modeled large-eddy simulation, and flow control modeling with neural-network algorithms. In addition to a clear research focus, a successful applicant will also be expected to assist Dr. Zheng in mentoring graduate and undergraduate research assistants in the group, developing externally funded research programs, and participating in activities in professional societies. This a full-time, benefitted, 12-month position with an approximate 50/50 split time between CAPS and the embedded site. This position will be based on the USU-Logan campus with an office at CAPS and an office located within the USU SVM Responsibilities will include providing mental health services and outreach to graduate and undergraduate students, consultations with USU faculty and staff, and supervision when possible. Employees at USU CAPS are also expected to be keenly sensitive to issues of diversity and social locations such as: gender, culture, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, disability, social-economic status, etc. CAPS is accredited by the International Accreditation of Counseling Services (IACS).
