The Utah State University Libraries seeks a collaborative, innovative and user-centered candidate for the position of Scholarly Communication Librarian to join a team supporting our communities in discovering, creating, and sharing knowledge. The Scholarly Communication Librarian will support data literacy across the institution and provide expertise and guidance for managing, preserving, and sharing research data. Collaborating with library colleagues and groups across campus, including the Office of Research, this position will also help develop strategic initiatives and partnerships to promote open scholarship, including conducting outreach and providing training on topics such as research impact, open access, and open science. The Department of Environment and Society (ENVS) at Utah State University (USU) invites applications for two term appointment faculty teaching positions (Lecturer or Professional Practice Assistant Professor) to support a new program in Remote Sensing and Geospatial Artificial Intelligence (GeoAI). We seek candidates who can holistically apply innovative GeoAI methods such as machine and deep learning, multidimensional data analysis, and big data visualization to natural resource applications. Teaching areas may include remote sensing, GeoAI applications in natural resources, geospatial programming courses in Python, ethics related to geospatial data and artificial intelligence, Google Earth Engine, and geovisualization techniques specific to remote sensing. These two non-tenure-track, full-time academic-year (nine-month) faculty positions are based at the USU main campus in Logan. The emphasis for each position is 95% teaching and 5% service. Utah State University Eastern is home to many NJCAA Division I varsity sport teams including: Women’s Volleyball, Men and Women’s Soccer, Men and Women’s Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Cheer, Dance, E-sports, and Rodeo. Reporting to the Head Athletic Trainer, the Assistant Athletic Trainer will be responsible for assisting with walk-in services and providing coverage and care of athletic practices and games. The candidate will help sustain a comprehensive athletic training program, including the addition of student athletic trainers and potential interns. The duties of the Assistant Athletic Trainer include prevention of athletic injuries, recognition, evaluation, and immediate care of athletic injuries, rehabilitation and reconditioning of athletic injuries, and health care administration duties. Founded in 1888, USU enrolls nearly 20,000 students at its main campus in Logan, including 1,300 graduate students. Another 7,700 students enroll at USU’s nine Statewide campuses, two dozen teaching centers, and in its internationally based and online programs. In addition, over 3,000 high school students are enrolled in USU courses as part of an innovative statewide concurrent enrollment program.   USU’s College of Engineering is comprised of innovative, passionate, and committed faculty who are actively engaged in exciting advances in research and preparing tomorrow’s leaders to solve problems in engineering and engineering education. The dean will strengthen and expand upon these partnerships to support innovation, work toward common goals, adapt to industry/government needs, and modernize higher education. • Be an active, collaborative, and contributing member of the university’s academic leadership team. • Establish and maintain a strong marketing and communication strategy, in collaboration with University Marketing and Communications, that informs constituencies and partners external to the college and which also facilitates frequent, open, and honest communication within the college and institution. • Prioritize the university’s land grant mission and its imperative for inclusive access through expansion and responsive delivery of educational programs, research and outreach throughout the USU statewide campus system. • Ensure the College of Engineering meets ABET accreditation standards and principles. • Lead the college in ways that reflect highest personal standards of integrity, ethics, and professionalism and address issues of inequity and Title IX with all due process to foster a work environment that is positive and respectful. The candidate must have distinguished academic credentials sufficient for appointment to the rank of full professor. The Dean will possess proven and excellent leadership ability, articulate a broad and comprehensive vision of the college based on its strengths and values, promote values and practices that reflect commitment to diversity and inclusivity, and embrace the land-grant mission of the university that places high importance on educational access, community partnerships, and outreach. The Department of Nutrition, Dietetics and Food Sciences at Utah State University is seeking to fill a full-time (9-month) tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Food Science program.  The role for this position is 50% research, 45% teaching, and 5% Service.  Applicants must have a PhD in Food Science or related area with experience and interest in food protein and enzyme chemistry, structure, and functionality. Candidates will be expected to establish an extramurally funded and nationally recognized program of research that complements or expands existing departmental research in the area of Food Science. The department has established research programs in the areas of dairy, meat, and confectionery science.   The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the department’s goal of identifying innovative science-driven solutions to food-related problems that affect people and communities of Utah and the world.    The proposed start date is August 1, 2024.
